Rewrite is designed for manuscript-wide transformations such as improving fluency, changing POV, tightening prose or adjusting dialogue style.

Be specific about the transformation

Describe the result you want rather than giving vague instructions like “make it better.” Good instructions name tone, POV, pacing, dialogue style, sentence density or other concrete traits.

State what must not change

If plot, character facts, terminology, tense or chapter structure must remain stable, say so explicitly.

Avoid conflicting rules

A short coherent instruction set usually performs better than a long list containing competing goals. Prioritize the changes that matter most.

Review representative sections

After processing, inspect dialogue-heavy scenes, emotional peaks, exposition and passages with distinctive voice. These reveal quickly whether the chosen transformation is appropriate.

Keep the source manuscript

The rewritten result should be treated as a new revision, not a reason to discard the original. Compare changes and keep version history for major manuscript-wide transformations.
